Memorandum of Understanding Signed on Modernization of Tajikistan’s National Telecommunications Network
On the sidelines of the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Communication Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on cooperation in the upgrade and expansion of Tajikistan’s national telecommunications network.
The Memorandum was signed by Yusuf Majidi, First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Parviz Noriyon, First Deputy Head of the Communication Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Holger Muent, Director and Head of Telecommunications, Media and Technology at the EBRD.
The project aims to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure, expand connectivity, improve the quality and reliability of telecommunications services, and support Tajikistan’s digital transformation agenda. The initiative will contribute to economic growth, greater regional connectivity, and improved access to modern digital services for citizens and businesses across the country.
