From 17 to 21 August 2026, the 30th meeting of the Commission of the Regional Telecommunication Association (RTA) on the regulation of the use of radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits, and the 59th meeting of the RTA Commission on the coordination of international cooperation, were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.
Representatives of the State Unitary Enterprise “Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio Monitoring Center” under the Communications Service of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the meetings. A wide range of issues related to the development of the communications sector, strengthening regional and international cooperation, the activities of RTA working groups, and preparations for major international events were discussed.
Within the framework of the working groups, particular attention was paid to the management and efficient use of radio-frequency spectrum, the development of terrestrial and satellite communication systems, the shared use of radio frequencies by different services, and the protection of existing systems.
The participants also considered issues related to the preparation of proposals and common positions of RTA member states for participation in the 2027 Radio Assembly and World Radiocommunication Conference.
It is worth noting that, as a result of their active participation in these events, representatives of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan were awarded RTA Certificates of Honour in recognition of their valuable contribution to the development of the communications sector.
As part of the events, a bilateral meeting between the delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic was also held. During the meeting, issues concerning the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of communications were discussed, including the draft Agreement on the Coordination of Radio-Frequency Assignments in Border Areas.
During the meeting, the parties expressed strong interest in further developing bilateral cooperation in the field of radio-frequency spectrum management and ensuring its efficient use in border areas. They agreed to continue efforts aimed at signing the aforementioned Agreement as soon as possible.
The active participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in such regional and international events contributes to strengthening cooperation in the communications sector, developing effective mechanisms for radio-frequency spectrum management, and protecting the country’s interests in the use of radio-frequency resources.
