U.S.-based private wireless specialist Celona has introduced Orion, a new platform that brings together private 5G, Wi-Fi 7, public cellular networks and satellite connectivity, with agentic AI designed to help manage the different technologies. According to Light Reading, Orion is expected to become available in the fourth quarter of 2026.

For the first time, Celona is adding Wi-Fi 7 access points to its private 5G offering. The company says enterprises can use private 5G where predictable connectivity is critical, including autonomous machines, while Wi-Fi can handle bandwidth-intensive applications.

Orion can also manage Starlink connectivity alongside 5G and Wi-Fi, providing enterprises operating remote or temporary sites with an end-to-end view of their different wireless connections. Celona does not distribute or resell Starlink.

AI is another major component of the new platform. Celona’s Celona Brain model supports Orchestrator AI, which includes several pre-built digital agents capable of helping enterprise wireless teams diagnose and address network problems.

The growing use of robotics and physical AI is one of the main drivers behind this development. Celona CEO Rajeev Shah told Light Reading that new industrial robots increasingly include GPUs and run AI inference directly on the device. Such systems require predictable wireless connectivity and coordination with computing resources at the network edge.

Celona is also launching AerConnect, an open-source wireless agent designed for robotics and AI devices. It will enable devices to move across private 5G, Wi-Fi, public cellular and satellite networks.

Celona’s enterprise customers operate across manufacturing, logistics, mining, ports, retail and transportation. The company currently has nearly 200 customers and more than 200 channel partners, according to Light Reading.
