A commemorative postage stamp was officially issued in honour of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The stamp unveiling ceremony was held on 21 August this year as part of a joint event organized by the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Unitary Enterprise “Tajikistan Post” at the “Almosi” Summer Promenade in the city of Hisor. The ceremony was attended by Hakim Kholiqzoda, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan; Isfandiyor Sa’dullo, Head of the Communications Service; Parvati Ramaswati Kavilamadam, UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan; and other distinguished guests.

The design of the stamp features an image of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, during the commissioning of the second unit of the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant, together with the official emblem of the 35th anniversary of Independence and a beautiful landscape depicting the natural scenery of Tajikistan.

The stamp was printed at Cartor, a printing house in France, in a limited edition of 6,000 copies. It is being issued together with a First Day Cover, a commemorative sheet, and a special First Day cancellation stamp dated 21 August 2026.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the presiding officials and distinguished guests applied the special First Day cancellation stamp to the envelopes and officially announced the start of circulation of the commemorative postage stamp.

The new postage stamp will be available to philately enthusiasts and the general public through all branches of the State Unitary Enterprise “Tajikistan Post” and its official websites.
