On July 18, 2026, a meeting between Mr. Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and representatives of the Tajik IT diaspora residing in the United States was held in New York City. The event was organized at the initiative of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Parviz Noriyon, First Deputy Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, delivered a presentation highlighting the achievements, current state, and future prospects of the country’s communications and digital technology sector. Participants were also introduced to existing investment opportunities and the potential for members of the Tajik diaspora to contribute to the implementation of the country’s strategic digital development projects.

During the meeting, participants discussed ways to leverage the expertise and professional experience of Tajik specialists living abroad to support the development of information and communication technologies (ICT), artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and the strengthening of Tajikistan’s digital infrastructure. They also exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation, implementing joint initiatives, and attracting investment to the country’s emerging technology sector.

Another segment of the event was held in the form of an open discussion, during which representatives of the Tajik IT diaspora presented proposals on human capital development, the training of highly qualified professionals, the establishment of experience-sharing programs, support for startups, and the expansion of innovation-driven cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening professional ties, maintaining an ongoing dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at developing Tajikistan’s digital ecosystem and reinforcing the country’s digital economy.
