The ICT Forum Tajikistan 2026 brought together representatives of government institutions, international organizations, leading technology companies, telecommunications operators, financial institutions, and industry experts to discuss the development of Tajikistan’s digital economy and its vision through 2030.
A key focus of the forum was the ongoing reform of the country’s telecommunications sector. Speaking at the event, Parviz Noriyon, First Deputy Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, highlighted that sustainable digital economy growth depends on the modernization of telecommunications infrastructure and the continuous improvement of sector governance.
He noted that, as part of the government’s digital transformation agenda, a number of significant reforms have been implemented in recent years. These measures have laid the foundation for expanding modern telecommunications networks, improving service quality, increasing internet accessibility, introducing advanced technologies, and accelerating the digitalization of public services.
According to Mr. Noriyon, the development of digital infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity, adopting innovative technologies, and training highly qualified ICT professionals remain among the government’s top priorities for the telecommunications sector.
The forum also featured the presentation of the international research report, IDC White Paper: Tajikistan National ICT Development, which evaluates the current state of the country’s ICT sector, telecommunications infrastructure, digital services, and digital economy potential. The report also provides practical recommendations for accelerating Tajikistan’s digital transformation.
Participants discussed a broad range of topics, including the expansion of next-generation telecommunications networks, artificial intelligence, data centers, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital government services, and international cooperation in the ICT sector.
The forum was recognized as an important platform for strengthening collaboration between the government, the private sector, and international partners in support of Tajikistan’s digital transformation and the continued development of its information and communication technology industry.
