TAJIKISTAN AND RUSSIA STRENGTHEN COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION SECURITY

Today, following the official meeting between the heads of the two states — President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon and President of the Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Putin — a ceremony was held in Dushanbe to sign 16 new cooperation documents. One of them was a Memorandum of Understanding between the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media of Russia.

This Memorandum of Understanding addresses pressing modern issues — regulating the use of the radio frequency spectrum, combating the spread of illegal information on the Internet, and preventing fraudulent calls during the provision of communication services.

This initiative can enhance information security and strengthen public trust in the digital environment. At the same time, it provides a legal framework for coordinating the policies of both countries in combating cyber threats and digital crimes.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates that Tajikistan and Russia are expanding their cooperation not only in economic and military areas but also in a new sphere — information and communication security.
