The Communications Service Provides High-Speed Internet for Participants of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection

In order to ensure the successful organization of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection, the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is providing high-speed internet in the venues where the conference events are taking place.

According to the plan, most of the technical work has been completed, and preparations are at the required level. The “Kokhi Somon” complex, which serves as the main venue of the conference, has been fully equipped with high-speed internet. In the building of the “Kokhi Somon” complex, both the primary and backup internet channels with a speed of 1 Gbps have been established, covering all floors. Mobile (Wi-Fi) equipment meeting international standards has been installed on each floor.

Additionally, modern technical equipment has been installed by employees of the branch of the Open Joint-Stock Company “Tojiktelecom” in the buildings where side events of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection are being held, and these locations have been provided with high-speed internet.

In the Navruzghoh Cultural and Recreational Park in Dushanbe, 7 Wi-Fi routers with modern bandwidth capacity have been installed, providing high-speed internet throughout the park. This initiative is continuing in other cultural and recreational parks of the capital.

In the Ahmad Donish Cultural and Recreational Park in Dushanbe, 5 Wi-Fi routers with modern bandwidth capacity have also been installed and will soon be available for use by residents and tourists.

As part of the preparations for the conference, the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan recently tested the quality and speed of Wi-Fi services via fixed internet in hotels across Dushanbe.

Inspections were conducted in the following hotels: Hilton, Serena, Firdavsi, Kangurt, Hyatt Regency, Rumi, Tajikistan, Avesto, Taj Palace, and Kokhi Afsaron. Based on the results, specific instructions were given to specialists of mobile companies and internet providers to address the identified issues.

It is worth recalling that from May 29 to 31, the Republic of Tajikistan will host the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection.

The conference is being held as part of the International Year of Glacier Preservation, an initiative proposed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, which was supported by more than 150 member states of the United Nations during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in December 2022 and adopted by a corresponding resolution.
