Quarterly Meeting of the Communications Service Collegium
Тhe Collegium of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting to summarize the results of the first quarter of 2025 and to outline tasks for the remainder of the year.
The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Communications Service, Isfandiyor Sa’dullo, and attended by members of the Collegium, heads and deputies of departments and divisions, sector employees, and representatives of the communications sector from the Khatlon and Sughd regions, the Badakhshan Autonomous Mountain Region, the Kulob region, and districts under central jurisdiction.
The session reviewed the Communications Service’s performance in the first quarter of 2025 and discussed upcoming plans for the second half of the year. As a result, the Collegium adopted relevant decisions on the discussed matters.
In his report, Isfandiyor Sa’dullo stated that 330 base stations had been installed during the reporting period. Productive cooperation with operators led to a significant reduction in the cost of imported internet, allowing domestic providers to lower prices for mobile and fixed internet services. As a result, mobile internet packages were increased by up to 20% at minimal cost. Fixed internet tariffs were reduced by an average of 55%, and tariffs with speeds below 5 Mbps were discontinued.
The total income of the national operator amounted to 451,426.3 thousand somoni, exceeding the projected plan of 50,911.8 thousand somoni.
Postal services worth 2,985,894 somoni were provided to the population in Q1 2025, which is 693,828 somoni more than in the same period of 2024.
Preliminary calculations show that, together with private operators and providers, the overall income of the telecommunications sector reached 1,110,586,505 somoni, which is 1.45% higher than the previous year (1,094,677,007 somoni). Tax payments to the state budget during this period amounted to 155,482,110 somoni.
The Communications Service’s 4030 contact center addressed technical issues and telecommunications-related requests. As of April 3, 2025, the center had received 2,758 complaints, of which 1,882 were resolved and 876 remain under review.
By initiative of the Communications Service, continued access to the e-wallets of financial institutions and government service websites and apps via the internet will be provided free of charge.
As part of the “Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development” initiative, the deployment of 5G networks has expanded.
The number of users connected to telecommunications networks in Tajikistan reached 8.3 million, including 5.3 million active mobile subscribers.
Mobile and fixed internet users totaled 4.9 million (53.8%), of which 4.7 million were mobile internet users.
Following administrative offense reviews, 18 individuals received administrative penalties.
In conclusion, Isfandiyor Sa’dullo highlighted several key objectives the Communications Service aims to implement throughout 2025 to strengthen telecommunications sector performance.
In the second part of the meeting, Daler Ghayratov (General Director of OJSC “Tojiktelecom”), Habibullo Safolov (Director of the State Enterprise “Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radiomonitoring”), and Saidali Mirzozoda (Director of the State Enterprise “Tajik Post”) analyzed the performance of their respective institutions.
Communications officials from the Khatlon and Sughd regions, the Badakhshan Autonomous Mountain Region, the Kulob region, and districts under central jurisdiction presented their activity reports online.
