The 27th Meeting of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications Commission Concluded in Dushanbe
Today, April 11, the 27th meeting of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) Commission, which began on April 7 in Dushanbe, concluded its work. On the final day, specialists and representatives from the communications sector, gathered from 19 countries, summarized the outcomes of five days of discussions.
During the closing session, participants reviewed the key decisions and reports from the working groups and positively assessed their significance for all parties involved. As a result of the meeting, six important documents were approved and signed, covering various issues related to the field of communications.
Several key topics were also discussed, including a report on the use of communication systems in railway transport and recommendations on harmonizing technical requirements for 5G systems in the 6425–7125 MHz frequency band.
A report on promising technologies in television broadcasting was presented and agreed upon. These include a twelvefold increase in transmission speed, UHD, and 5G Broadcast. It was decided to explore the possibility of using the 470–694 MHz frequency band to expand television broadcasting capabilities.
Preparations for the 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-27) were among the issues addressed, with a draft common position and informational materials on key agenda items developed.
In addition, preparations for upcoming RCC meetings were discussed. The participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation to expand access to satellite Internet services and recognized the necessity of implementing fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication standards across all countries.
